Petrol Price Drops by GH¢16.38, diesel rises to GH¢18.45
For the first pricing window in November, Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs) have started modifying pump prices, with diesel prices increasing and that of petrol have been decreasing.
Over the weekend, Star Oil took the lead by lowering the price of petrol from GH¢16.45 to GH¢16.38 per liter while Diesel
is now GH¢18.45 per liter. It was previously GH¢17.95.
Though other large fuel dealers have also decided to adjust their prices just this first week of November.
The modifications come after the Chamber of Oil Marketing Companies’ (COMAC) forecasts for the pricing window of November 1–15, 2026.
The chamber predicted that the cost of gasoline would drop by up to 3.35%, diesel would rise by 1.50%, and the price of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) would climb by 0.81%.
Different marketing firms will have different actual pump prices. Petrol costs GH¢17.02 per liter, and diesel costs GH¢18.99.
A higher cedi, shifts in global petroleum prices, and government-industry involvement to protect diesel consumers were all cited by COMAC as the reasons for the mixed outlook.
During the study period, the price of refined products changed, but the price of crude oil decreased by 1.90%.
Diesel prices increased by 3.54%, while petrol prices fell by 4.97% globally. The largest price increase was 21.33% for LPG.
Meanwhile, the cedi has appreciated by 0.70% to GH¢11.7326 to the US dollar. This is because of the average bank rates between October 12 and October 27, 2026.
